Entry Fees:
$10.00 per horse, stall fee
The Open Horse Division will display all breeds of horses at the Fair. Anyone interested must contact the Superintendent.
Exhibitors can register at http://cowlitzcountyfair.fairentry.com starting Saturday, June 1, 2024 through 9:59 pm PST on Monday, July 1, 2024.
In Time:
Animals accepted Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Please see animal ingress maps on Fair website for directions on how to bring your animal to the Fair.
Release Time:
Exhibitors will be released from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm, noon, Sunday, July 28.
Specific Rules:
1. Exhibitors should read General Rules and Regulations and Livestock Department Rules found in the 2024 Exhibitor Handbook.
2. All exhibitors must conform to health requirements printed in the front of the Exhibitor Handbook.
3. Animals must be groomed and in show condition upon arrival at the Fair.
4. Exhibitors are required to keep stalls and animals clean.
5. Exhibitors are required to enter Division A and Showmanship.
6. Must have Stall Card with the following information: owner’s name, owner’s phone number, vet’s name and phone number and horse’s name.
7. Exhibitor is expected to make an attractive display and maintain that display for the duration of the Fair. Note: Decoration materials used shall be limited to aluminum foil, flowers and suitable signs. Flammable materials will not be allowed. Final discretion will rest in the authority of the Longview Fire Code.
8. Exhibitor must supply educational material on their animal, to be displayed on the front of each stall (i.e. breed requirements, feeding and vaccination information, etc.). The educational display must “tell a story”. It can be detailed, but the viewer must get the general message in 3-5 seconds.
9. Bedding will be furnished by the Fair. Owners will be responsible for the feed and care of their animals.
10. Horses must have two (2) full water buckets at all times.
11. Horses must be on a lunge line when out of stall at exercise time.
12. Failure to abide by these rules may result in the loss of awards and removal from the Fair.

Prize awards shall be paid by check, or in cash if under $10 total, issued by the Cowlitz County Fair office as soon as all entry records are received and processed, and payment can be reasonably made. All points are worth 15 cents each, unless stated otherwise. Checks must be cashed within 60 days of the date of issue; otherwise, funds will be forfeited back to the Fair. The Fair Office must be notified of any errors on the check within 60 days of issue.

Interactive Demonstration: Educate Fairgoers how to make or do something. Bring materials for participants to actively learn and take away their creation.
1. Interactive Demonstration – One Hour 80 points
2. Interactive Demonstration – 45 Minutes 60 points
3. Interactive Demonstration – 30 Minutes 40 points
Informative Demonstration: Educate Fairgoers how to do something. Make it a fun learning experience where they can take what they learn from you and do it at home. Bring props help tell your story.
4. Informative Demonstration – 30 Minutes 60 points
5. Informative Demonstration – 15 Minutes 50 points
