Entry Fees:

Exhibitors can register at http://cowlitzcountyfair.fairentry.com starting Saturday, June 1, 2024 through 9:59 pm PST on Monday, July 1, 2024.
In Time:
Animals accepted Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Please see animal ingress maps on Fair website for directions on how to bring your animal to the Fair for vet check-in.
Release Time:
Exhibitors will be released from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm – Noon, Sunday, July 28. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning out their own pens at the end of the Fair.
Barn Information:
Pens: Pens are 6’x6’ and can accommodate 2-3 standard dairy goats or 4-5 dwarfs/kids. Due to limited pen space, no one Exhibitor will be allowed more than 8 pens, including a tack space. Please plan accordingly.
Bedding: Straw will be supplied by the Fair. If you wish different bedding, please bring your own.
Electricity: The barn has only 12 outlets, please bring your own extension cords.
Decorations: Please bring your own poles, strings/wires, along with staples/staple guns, zip ties, scissors, etc. for putting up your décor.
Specific Rules:
1. Exhibitors should read General Rules and Regulations and Livestock Department Rules found in the 2024 Exhibitor Handbook.
2. NO HORNED GOATS. NO REFUNDS.
3. ADGA Rules Shall Govern. All goats must be registered with ADGA and have registration papers in hand to participate in the ADGA sanctioned Open Class Dairy Goat Show.
4. All goats (except castrated males under 18 months of age are required to be scrapie identified with an official scrapie tag or a scrapie flock ID tattoo. Registered goats may use a registration tattoo matching registration paper, or an EID (with reader) listed on registration papers. To obtain a Scrapie Flock ID number and scrapie tags call (866) USDA-TAG or (866) 873-2824.
5. The Fair official shall check all registration or recordation papers for ownership, age, correct class entry and identify the animal prior to entry into show ring.
6. Junior doe and senior doe shows are not sanctioned separately. Show to be held Friday, July 26th at 9:00 am.
7. The name of sire and/or dam shall be given for group classes.
8. All exhibitors are limited to not more than three entries per lot per breed.
9. Ribbons will be awarded for Herdsmanship for the first three places. Awards will be given at the discretion of the judges and will be based on the scorecard listed below.
10. Milk stands to be used for milking/grooming and must be cleaned after each herd’s use. NO MILKING IN THE AISLES.
11. ADGA registered 4-H and FFA goats are eligible and encouraged to exhibit in Open Class. These animals must also meet the Fair’s General Livestock Health Requirements.
12. ADGA show not subject to change.

Prize awards shall be paid by check, or in cash if under $10 total, issued by the Cowlitz County Fair office as soon as all entry records are received and processed, and payment can be reasonably made. All points are worth 15 cents each, unless stated otherwise. Checks must be cashed within 60 days of the date of issue; otherwise, funds will be forfeited back to the Fair. The Fair Office must be notified of any errors on the check within 60 days of issue.

Interactive Demonstration: Educate Fairgoers how to make or do something. Bring materials for participants to actively learn and take away their creation.
1. Interactive Demonstration – One Hour 80 points
2. Interactive Demonstration – 45 Minutes 60 points
3. Interactive Demonstration – 30 Minutes 40 points
Informative Demonstration: Educate Fairgoers how to do something. Make it a fun learning experience where they can take what they learn from you and do it at home. Bring props, help tell your story.
4. Informative Demonstration – 30 Minutes 60 points
5. Informative Demonstration – 15 Minutes 50 points
Division D: COSTUME CONTEST
Saturday afternoon contest followed by parade of costumed goats and handlers. All ages and breeds of goats are encouraged to participate. Need not be ADGA registered. Handlers of any age are welcome, only caveat is that they must have control over their goat at all times.

An ADGA One Day Milking Competition will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. If you wish to participate, please contact the goat barn superintendents in advance of the Fair at mistkissedmtn@gmail.com with the number of goats you plan to test. Sign-in and milk out will take place after goats have been checked into the Fair on Tuesday, July 23rd.
