Exhibitors can register at http://cowlitzcountyfair.fairentry.com starting Saturday, June 1, 2024 through 9:59 pm EST on Monday, July 1, 2024.
In Time:
Animals accepted Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 9:30 am. Please note animals will need to attend a mandatory vet check. The time and day of the health check will be communicated after July 15th by the Open Dog Superintendent.
Release Time:
Exhibitors will be released at 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024 (weather dependent)
Specific Rules:
1. Exhibitors should read General Rules and Regulations found in the 2024 Exhibitor Handbook.
2. Health requirements set by Washington State 4-H Dog Program will be enforced and followed by the open class dog superintendent.
3. Exhibitors and dogs are expected to be at the Fair from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm on the day of the show. Dogs should be benched or in a metal (not plastic) crate a majority of the time. You must provide your own crate or benching chain.
3. Dogs must be clean and fully groomed.
4. All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations: Rabies, distemper combination (including parvovirus and parainfluenza), and bordetella. Proof of a current rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian will be required for the health vet check.
5. All dogs will be given a health check by an animal health professional prior to the opening of Fair for disease and parasites. Those dogs with disease and/or parasites will be barred from showing.
6. Herdsmanship is required. The purpose and guiding principles of Herdsmanship are for exhibitors to care for their animals, pens and equipment properly, insure safety and keep cages, surrounding areas and animals clean and attractive at all times. Failure to do so many result in loss of premium points.
- Exhibitors should be dressed in clean, neat attire with appropriate footwear. They should also be friendly and show courtesy to the public.
8. Herdsmanship, grooming, handling and exercise of the dog must be performed by the exhibitor.
9. While on duty, exhibitors will keep floors and aisle ways neat and clean, tack and feed areas neat and clean, and all animals and bedding clean and neat.
10. Stall cards will be furnished for each animal and must be displayed.
11. Only one entry permitted in each lot.
12. For Class 3, dog agility you may enter in both standard and jumper classes.
13. The open dog department will follow the Danish style of judging as set forth through the 4-H program and dog program.

Prize awards shall be paid by check, or in cash if under $10 total, issued by the Cowlitz County Fair office as soon as all entry records are received and processed, and payment can be reasonably made. All points are worth 15 cents each, unless stated otherwise. Checks must be cashed within 60 days of the date of issue; otherwise, funds will be forfeited back to the Fair. The Fair Office must be notified of any errors on the check within 60 days of issue.
